First order of business is the new owner incentive. We had 10 owners eligible for the incentive (see the private world rules if you need a refresh on the details) and, should all new owners return for their second season with Mendoza, the winners are: 1st Place -- tjconnatser, with a 17 game improvement. 2nd Place -- patrickkm, with a 16 game improvement. 3rd Place -- tonicawf, with a 13 game improvement. Unless they've since changed their minds, I believe all 3 owners plan to return next season, so congratulations!
Second order of business -- I am pleased to announce we had ZERO violations of the MWR, so everyone is eligible to come back.
Third order of business -- I'm planning on making a new post in the classifieds section in the hopes that we can fill our openings before the playoffs finish. That said, if anyone either knows of anyone looking for a league, or would be willing to do an owner swap with another league, please TC me. It would help quite a bit in keeping things moving. As of right now, we still have 3 confirmed openings: New York, Monterrey, and Boston. I still have not heard anything from four other franchises: Jackson, Boise, Huntington, and San Juan. I really hope all of you return, but last season I was burned by owners leaving me in limbo and then leaving mid-recruitment. I'm going to post our 3 openings to the classifieds section, but I'm also going to have a 4 team "wait list" should those owners not return.
Finally -- I'd like to point out that it was very difficult to fill 11 openings last season. I have heard that one league we orchestrated a swap with STILL has not rolled. I've also been assuming I will foot the bill for the new owners incentives from this past season. I don't say this to toot my own horn, but more to appeal to you all to do whatever small things you can to help out in this season's recruitment. I know there's not a lot to be done if you're not the commissioner, but a few things off the top of my head: bump the classifieds post, recruit from your current leagues, be open to an owner swap, and perhaps most importantly, re-up ASAP! I sh*t you not, I had to send out 10+ site mails to returning owners last season after the season had concluded to make sure they were coming back. It's hard enough to recruit new people without having to track down returnees.
